Welcome to the Academy of Awesome Lockhart!

In partnership with Lockhart ISD, the Academy of Awesome is a program of the Catalyst Collective that provides teens with an opportunity to explore their passions and build confidence in their unique design and purpose. Local volunteers with a skill or passion to offer are invited to apply and join our initiative to invest in the next generation. We can also train you on how to be an excellent mentor!!

A Message from Lockhart Pride High School and LDMC Principal, Ethan Peters

Dear Future Supporter,

Many of the students that we serve face many challenges at home, in the community and are often behind on several key areas academically, specifically reading and writing. Many students have told me directly “I would rather be a bad kid than a dumb kid.”

Our just cause is to provide students opportunities and experiences to see the value and worth in themselves. In response to this pressing need, we have been partnering with Catalyst Collective to build a program that aims to provide these students with essential tools for success, including:

1. Mentoring: Each student has the opportunity to be paired with a dedicated mentor who offers guidance, support, and encouragement.

2. Leadership Development: Through workshops and seminars, we equip students with leadership skills, helping them to develop a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and effective communication and ultimately being able to manage their own emotions.

3. Real-Life Skills: Through this program we offer classes from volunteers in the community for woodworking, electrical, photography, web design, entrepreneurship, criminal justice, fly fishing, culinary arts, art, survival skills, weightlifting, team roping, and so much more.

4. Internships and Job Placement: We work to connect students with local businesses and organizations for internships, providing them with valuable work experience and professional networking opportunities.

We have seen the impact of this program and it extends beyond the classroom. This all leads to a healthier student, happier families and a more positive community.

To sustain and expand this critical program, we are seeking financial support and involvement from community influencers like you. We believe that with your support, we can make a profound difference in the lives of these deserving students.

Thank you for considering this important request. Your support could be the key to unlocking their potential in a world of opportunities for these young men and women, and we sincerely hope that you will join us in making a lasting impact.

Warmest regards,

Ethan Peters
